Half Pint Volume 22 ✨
First day of the year wearing shorts - Sophia A, half pint rinder
Hello! Welcome back to half pint. We have entered one of my favourite months. Bank holiday weekends and London thriving in its best weather - warming up but not too hot. Lovely stuff.
Half Pint #1 - The Wells Tavern
The first half pint this week is dedicated to my favourite pub in London at this time of year. Some pubs suit different seasons and the Wells in Hampstead is at its absolute best right now. I recently braved a packed Northern line commute to have an after work drink and the stress of the rammed journey quickly melted away when I arrived to the serene and green backdrop (quite literally just off the Heath) with a crisp half pint in hand. If you find yourself with a free afternoon or evening in the next few weeks, head here.
Half Pint #2 - Salad Freak
Salad Freak is written by Jess Damuck, formerly Martha Stewart’s personal salad chef and now a bestselling cookbook author. If like me, you love a crunchy, fresh, zingy salad but sometimes lack the inspiration beyond treating yourself to an Atis or whipping up a quick Caesar - this book is for you. It is split by season which I think is fun (although who is making salads in winter??) so you are also encouraged to use seasonal produce. I have tried quite a few of the recipes over the last few years and they are easy to follow, look great and taste wonderful.
Half Pint #3 - Jones’ Crumpets
I love crumpets. I’ve even dedicated a previous half pint to crumpets to them but this is a specific shout out to Jones’ Crumpets. My friend gifted these when she came over for lunch (an EXCELLENT gift idea). The next day, I toasted them, covered in butter and marmite and they were the perfect indulgence to start the day.
Until next time - keep spotting those half pints!!

Love the book x
